An aircraft with registration number 5N-BZN arriving from Lagos suffered a nose-gear failure while landing at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, on Thursday evening.
FAAN said the incident occurred around 19:10hrs, adding that no casualties were recorded. All passengers and crew disembarked safely and were taken to the terminal by apron buses.
FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Henry Agbebire, said emergency teams, including fire and medical units, were immediately deployed to secure the aircraft and ensure passenger safety. The evacuation was completed by 19:48hrs.
Agbebire stressed that passenger safety remains FAAN’s priority, noting that further updates will be issued as more information becomes available.
