The Federal High Court in Abuja has sentenced Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), to life imprisonment.
Justice James Omotosho imposed the life term on counts one, two, four, five, and six, choosing not to impose the death penalty.
On count three, Kanu received a 20-year jail term (no fine), and on count seven, he was sentenced to five years (no fine).
The sentences follow Kanu’s conviction on all seven counts of terrorism-related offences.
