Nigerian rapper and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has criticised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over worsening insecurity and urged him to resign if he cannot address the crisis.
In a post shared on Wednesday, Falz faulted the government’s handling of rising kidnappings and killings nationwide, recalling Tinubu’s past statement that any leader who fails to protect citizens does not deserve to remain in office.
He said the surge in attacks across the North-West, North-Central and parts of the South contradicts the President’s campaign promises.
Falz referenced recent incidents in Kaduna, Plateau and Benue, where several residents were abducted or killed between Saturday and Monday.
He accused the government of “silence and insensitivity,” saying Nigerians can no longer wait for decisive action.
“The same words you spoke years ago now apply to you,” he wrote.
Falz’s post has since sparked nationwide reactions, especially in Lagos, Abuja and Kaduna. The Presidency has yet to respond.
