The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, on Tuesday marked his 20th coronation anniversary with the installation of new chiefs in Abeokuta.
Oba Gbadebo, coronated as the 10th Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland on November 19, 2005, presided over the colourful event attended by Egba Obas, titled chiefs, government officials, politicians and business leaders.
One of the newly installed chiefs, Chief Samuel Oluwadairo, received the prestigious title of Ogboye of Egbaland, a top-ranking position on the Alake-in-Council, approved by the Ogun State Government.
His wife, Chief Regina Oluwadairo, was installed as the Erelu-Ogboye of Egbaland.
The Alake prayed for divine wisdom for the chiefs and urged them to uphold exemplary conduct in their duties.
In his acceptance speech, Chief Oluwadairo thanked the monarch for the honour, describing the title as a call to service.
He pledged to promote peace, unity and economic development across Egbaland.
Chief Regina expressed joy over her installation and promised to support her husband while continuing her work as the Seriki Iya-Abiye of Egbaland.
