Power tussle erupted on Tuesday at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), national secretariat, Wadata Plaza, as the faction loyal to Tanimu Turaki, Governor Seyi Makinde, and Governor Bala Mohammed reportedly dislodged the Nyesom Wike-aligned group from the premises.
The Makinde/Bala camp was said to have arrived early to take control of the headquarters, forcing out Wike’s loyalists who had occupied the building.
After the takeover, Turaki vowed the faction would not back down, saying they were prepared to “take over Wadata Plaza even if it takes our lives,” signalling a prolonged internal battle.
The incident marks another escalation in the PDP’s deepening crisis, with both blocs fighting for dominance over the party’s national structure.
