A fire on Sunday destroyed the Abuja residence of Isah Ashiru, the 2023 Kaduna State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), at the Apo Legislative Quarters. The blaze razed the building completely, with nothing recovered.
Ashiru confirmed the incident on Facebook, describing the loss as substantial but thanking God that no life was lost.
Calling the event a “divine reminder” of life’s fragility, he said the experience had strengthened his faith and offered a chance to rebuild “with clarity and purpose.”
Ashiru, a former member of the House of Representatives and two-term Kaduna lawmaker, urged Nigerians to pray for his family as they begin recovery. The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
