The Olofin of Isheri, Oba Sulaiman Bamgbade, has called for stronger government and private-sector support for engineering technologists across Nigeria.

Speaking at the 2025 Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Nigerian Association of Technologists in Engineering (NATE), the monarch said technologists play a crucial role in national development but continue to face limited recognition, inadequate resources, and weak institutional backing.

In a statement from the Palace’s Office of Media and Publicity, Oba Bamgbade urged improved capacity building, standardised training, and better working conditions, saying such support would boost productivity and strengthen the profession.

“For Nigeria to achieve real transformation, we must invest in engineering capacity, uphold integrity in public projects, and empower our technologists,” he said.

Oba Bamgbade, who holds degrees in Civil and Systems Engineering, was inducted as a Fellow of NATE during the event in recognition of his contributions to the profession.

The statement also recalled that the federal government approved an Engineering Innovation Fund in 2024 to support advanced research and technological development in the sector.
