Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has launched a national menstrual health project under her Renewed Hope Initiative, tagged “Flow with Confidence,” with the donation of 10,000 sanitary pads to teenage girls in Anambra State.

Represented by the state’s First Lady, Dr Nonye Soludo, at the flag-off ceremony in Awka, Mrs Tinubu said the initiative aims to promote menstrual hygiene, boost girls’ confidence, and prevent school absenteeism during their periods.

Soludo, who is also founder of Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo, noted that the pads would be distributed equitably, especially in rural areas where many girls struggle to access such products.

She described the project as a timely effort to combat stigma and restore girls’ dignity, while lawmaker Ifeoma Azikiwe commended Tinubu’s compassion and commitment to women’s welfare.

The event featured health talks and cash support for beneficiaries, who expressed gratitude, saying the gesture would help them stay in school with confidence.
