American-Senegalese singer Akon, 52, was arrested in Georgia on Friday, November 7, over an outstanding warrant from Roswell, New Mexico.
Chamblee Police spotted his white Tesla via a Flock camera system linked to the active warrant.
Officer Joshua Rosa found Akon outside Tint World on Chamblee Dunwoody Road and confirmed his identity before taking him into custody.
Akon was transported to DeKalb County Jail, booked, and released about six hours later. Officer Rosa said the singer remained calm, cooperative, and aware of the warrant.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the brief detention but did not disclose details of the charges.
