Police Rescue Seven Kidnap Victims in Edo

The Edo State Police Command has rescued seven kidnapped victims in Ewohimi, Esan South-East Local Government Area.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Emem Ikoedem, said in a statement that the victims were abducted in the Ikeken Forest while on their way to the farm.

Acting on a distress report, the Divisional Police Officer in Ewohimi led a joint team of police operatives, soldiers, and vigilantes in a swift rescue mission.

The kidnappers fled during the operation, leaving their captives unharmed.

The rescued victims have since reunited with their families.

Commissioner of Police, Monday Agbonika, commended the security team’s professionalism and assured that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
