The Federal Government has condemned acts of vandalism and misuse along the Abuja-Kaduna-Kano Highway, urging residents to safeguard public infrastructure.
Minister of State for Works, Muhammad Bello-Goronyo, lamented reports of people damaging road sections, removing safety railings, and using highways as refuse and drying grounds, especially around the Jaji Bridge in Kaduna State.
He also decried the activities of scavengers who steal metal components from road projects, warning that such actions amount to sabotage.
Goronyo appealed to traditional rulers and community leaders to protect government projects and discourage vandalism.
