The Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID), has called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those involved in vote-buying during the Anambra governorship election.
In a mid-day report, CJID said its observers documented multiple cases of voter inducement and harassment of journalists across the state, describing the incidents as threats to democracy and press freedom.
The organisation urged INEC and security agencies to enforce the Electoral Act 2022, warning that selective enforcement would erode public trust.
It also renewed its call for an independent Electoral Offences Commission to ensure swift and impartial prosecution of electoral crimes.
