The Federal Government says it will empower seven million youths through vocational and digital skills training to boost innovation, self-reliance, and employability.

Minister of Youth Development, Comrade Ayodele Olawande, disclosed this while receiving a delegation from the IHK Giessen-Friedberg Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Germany, in Abuja.

He said the initiative, under the Nigerian Youth Academy (NIYA), aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda and seeks to produce “innovators and entrepreneurs, not just job seekers.”

Olawande revealed plans to launch a digital learning platform similar to Coursera to make skill acquisition accessible nationwide.

In his remarks, Dr. Matthias Leder, CEO of IHK Giessen-Friedberg, reaffirmed Germany’s support for Nigeria’s youth development efforts and announced that 300 Nigerian youths will graduate from the Legal Labour Migration and Dual Vocational Training Project on November 12, 2025.
