The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has accused foreign lobbyists of sponsoring false claims about an alleged “Christian genocide” in Nigeria.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Wednesday, Idris said government findings show that some groups abroad, particularly in the United States, are funding and promoting divisive narratives about Nigeria’s security situation.
He stressed that while insecurity has affected many communities, there is no evidence that any religious group is being deliberately targeted.
