Former Kaduna Central senator, Shehu Sani, has condemned U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat of military intervention in Nigeria over alleged genocide against Christians.
Reacting on X, Sani described Trump’s remarks as offensive, saying Nigeria “is not and will never be a disgraced country.”
He noted that Nigeria has no record of invading or plundering any nation and does not deserve such derogatory labeling.
While acknowledging Nigeria’s security challenges, Sani maintained that the country needs international support, not aggression.
He urged the government to defend national sovereignty and protect citizens, stressing that claims of Christian genocide misrepresent the situation, as terrorists target Nigerians indiscriminately.
