The Presidency has dismissed reports claiming that President Bola Tinubu is set to visit the United States on Tuesday to meet with US Vice President J.D. Vance.

In a post on X, the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Temitope Ajayi, described the report by Sahara Reporters as “false and misleading.”

He clarified that if Tinubu were to visit Washington, he would meet with President Donald Trump, not the Vice President.

Ajayi’s clarification followed speculations linking the alleged visit to Trump’s recent threat of possible US military action in Nigeria over alleged Christian persecution.

Tinubu has since reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to democracy, religious freedom, and peaceful coexistence, saying his administration maintains open engagement with religious leaders across faiths to promote unity and security.
