All Progressives Congress (APC), chieftain Tolu Bankole has urged the United States to freeze the assets of terror financiers and corrupt Nigerians abroad instead of threatening military action against Nigeria.
Reacting to U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments about possible intervention over alleged Christian persecution, Bankole said such threats were “misplaced and dangerous,” warning that Nigeria needs peace, not war.
He called on Washington to target those funding terrorism and laundering looted funds overseas, insisting that “allowing them to live comfortably abroad while plotting to destabilize Nigeria is unacceptable.”
Bankole urged the U.S. to support President Bola Tinubu’s reforms through partnerships in technology, infrastructure, agriculture, and intelligence sharing, saying, “Nigeria needs collaboration, not condemnation.”
He also appealed for national unity, cautioning that any conflict, internal or external, would only deepen hardship and division.
