Abuja-based volleyball teams dominated the National Division One and Two League, which ended in Umuahia, Abia State.
Defence Spikers Volleyball Club of Abuja won the Men’s Division One, with Ajase Ipo of Kwara and Lifecamp of Abuja placing second and third.
In the Women’s Division One, VIP Volleyball Club of Abuja emerged champions, followed by Federal Fire Service of Abuja and Excelsior of Abia.
Light Volleyball Club of Abuja also clinched first place in the Men’s Division Two, while Bayelsa and Rhino (Plateau) finished second and third.
Nigeria Volleyball Federation President Musa Nimrod, represented by Vice President Adamu Tanimu, commended the event’s organisation and lauded Abia State Governor Alex Otti for his support.
Abia’s Commissioner for Sports, Nwobilor Ananaba, said the championship helped discover new talents, while Sports Director George Obioma expressed hope that Abia will host the 2026 edition.
Thirty-four teams from 20 states participated in the 10-day tournament.
