The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has directed members nationwide to continue preparations for its national convention despite a court order halting the exercise.

In a statement on Friday, National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, said the party will appeal the Federal High Court judgment restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), from recognising the convention’s outcome.

Ologunagba described the ruling as an attack on the PDP’s internal democracy but assured members that lawful steps are being taken to vacate the order.

The convention, slated for November 15-16 in Ibadan, faces internal tension over zoning and leadership disputes involving key party stakeholders.
