The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, says the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), is being repositioned to effectively respond to the nation’s evolving security challenges.

Aneke stated this at the combined graduation ceremony of the Basic Regiment Officers Course 20/2025 and Basic Regiment Airmen/Airwomen Course 33/2025 held at the Regiment Training Centre (RTC), in Kaduna.

Represented by Air Vice Marshal Ahmed Dari, Air Officer Commanding, Air Training Command, the air chief said the force is revitalising its capabilities, developing new strategies, and adapting its operations to combat insurgency, terrorism, and banditry.

“The modern battlespace is increasingly complex and unpredictable. A sustainable air force must be built on disciplined personnel who possess both technical competence and moral strength to defend Nigeria’s sovereignty,” he said.

He commended the RTC commandant, instructors, and staff for their dedication to developing the next generation of air force personnel and lauded the graduates for their discipline and resilience.

Aneke urged them to protect Nigerians and uphold the honour of the service, stressing that discipline and professionalism remain central to national defence.

A total of 483 personnel, comprising 34 officers and 449 airmen and airwomen, completed the specialised training in air-ground defence and force protection.

The graduation comes shortly after a major redeployment of senior NAF officers, a move Aneke said was aimed at improving operational efficiency and combat readiness.
