The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested two suspected “one chance” robbers linked to the death of 23-year-old Grace Godwin in Abuja.

Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh said the suspects, Kabiru Abdullahi (25) and Solomon Tanko (35), were apprehended by the command’s Scorpion Squad after an investigation into the July 11 incident.

Godwin, a fuel attendant, reportedly boarded the suspects’ commercial vehicle while returning from work. Her body was later found along Iya Abubakar Street, Life Camp.

Investigations revealed she recognised some of the gang members from her Dape community. Abdullahi allegedly strangled her with a nylon bag after she resisted and bit his finger.

A golden Toyota Camry and other items used in the crime were recovered, while efforts are ongoing to arrest fleeing accomplices.

Adeh said the breakthrough followed digital reconstructive intelligence deployed by the police.

“One chance” robberies, where fake transporters rob unsuspecting passengers, remain a major security concern in Abuja.
