Elon Musk’s artificial intelligence company, xAI, has launched Grokipedia, a new online encyclopedia aimed at rivaling Wikipedia, which Musk accuses of political bias.
Currently in its version 0.1, Grokipedia hosts over 885,000 articles, far fewer than Wikipedia’s seven million entries. Musk claimed on X that the platform is already “better than Wikipedia” and promised a version “10 times better” soon.
“The goal of Grokipedia.com is the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth,” Musk wrote, adding that the release had been delayed to “purge out the propaganda.”
xAI said the platform’s content is AI-generated, including inputs from Grok, the company’s chatbot assistant.
Wikipedia, founded in 2001, remains a volunteer-run, donation-funded platform committed to a “neutral point of view.” AFP reported it had reached out to Wikipedia for comment.
