The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Medical Sciences (UNIMED), Ondo State, Prof. Ebunoluwa Adejuyigbe, has denied claims that the institution increased its tuition fees.
Addressing journalists in Akure on Monday, Adejuyigbe described the viral reports as “false and mischievous,” clarifying that no across-the-board fee hike was implemented.
The VC added that all official fee structures are available on the school’s website, stressing that UNIMED’s tuition remains competitive and subsidised by the Ondo State Government.
On the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), she noted that 87 verified students were submitted last year but are still awaiting enrolment.
Adejuyigbe also dismissed reports that the UNIMED Teaching Hospital in Akure had been taken over by FUTA, explaining that it was only a collaborative arrangement allowing shared use of facilities.
