The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, on Monday warned activist Omoyele Sowore and others planning to protest the recent demolitions in parts of the state to stay away or face the law.

Jimoh, who spoke at the Iyana-Oworo axis of the Third Mainland Bridge, said the command had deployed officers across strategic areas, including Ojota, Maryland, Lekki Toll Gate, and Gbagada, to prevent any breakdown of order.

He said the bridge was too vital to Nigeria’s economy and the safety of lives for anyone to block, adding that those behind such plans would be dealt with accordingly.

The commissioner defended the state government’s demolition exercise in Oworonshoki, describing the affected structures as illegal and used by criminals.

Jimoh urged residents to remain calm, assuring them of protection while warning that “criminality under the cover of activism will not be tolerated.”
