The African Democratic Congress (ADC), has urged President Bola Tinubu to explain the real reasons behind the sudden removal of the nation’s Service Chiefs, saying Nigerians deserve transparency on the matter.
In a statement on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the party expressed concern that the shake-up came weeks after speculations of an attempted coup, yet without any clear government explanation.
While the presidency described the move as an effort to strengthen national security, the ADC said such changes should be driven by strategy and professionalism, not “regime politics.”
“The President must tell Nigerians the real reason for this sudden overhaul,” the statement read. “A categorical explanation is necessary to reassure citizens that our democracy and national stability are not under threat.”
The party urged the government to clarify the decision to avoid public tension and restore confidence in the system.
