Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says he will express his honest opinion to former President Goodluck Jonathan if the ex-leader decides to contest the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja on Friday, Wike said Jonathan has not discussed any political ambition with him.
“Jonathan has never told me. If he calls me and asks, I’ll tell him my mind,” he said.
Speculation about Jonathan’s return gained traction after former Information Minister, Prof. Jerry Gana, claimed the former president would contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Wike, however, cautioned Jonathan against being influenced by politicians who misled him in 2015, urging him to protect his international reputation.
