Supporters of Kayode Ojo on Friday staged a protest at the All Progressives Congress (APC), National Secretariat in Abuja over his disqualification from the Ekiti governorship primary.
The protesters, mostly women and youth groups, accused the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), of bias and demanded Ojo’s reinstatement ahead of Sunday’s primary.
Chanting solidarity songs and carrying placards rejecting Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s consensus candidacy, they called for a transparent process to allow Ekiti people choose their candidate.
Security operatives were deployed to maintain order, while the APC leadership had yet to respond to the protesters’ grievances as of press time.
