The Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party (LP), has given Nenadi Usman’s camp 72 hours to retract statements it calls “blackmail” and an “attack on INEC and the judiciary.”
In a statement, the Abure group described the remarks attributed to Usman’s side as derogatory and demanded an immediate public withdrawal and clarification to defend the party’s reputation and the integrity of democratic institutions.
The ultimatum highlights the ongoing leadership dispute within the LP, marked by competing claims and frequent public exchanges between the Abure and Usman camps.
At the time of reporting, neither the full statement from Usman’s camp nor any response had been released, and possible sanctions for non-compliance were not specified.
