Wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has raised concern over the rising cases of Hepatitis B and C in Nigeria, describing it as a national health emergency.

Speaking at the 2025 National Hepatitis Summit in Abuja, Soludo, founder of the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo initiative, disclosed that about 20 million Nigerians are infected, with over 80 percent unaware of their status due to poor public awareness.

She noted that Hepatitis B and C are treatable if detected early and urged Nigerians to embrace regular testing and vaccination.

“The time is now to push back the ravage of hepatitis in Anambra and across Nigeria,” she said.

As part of her campaign, Soludo recently led a Healthy Living Walk in Anambra to promote exercise, healthy eating, and disease prevention.
