President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Timipre Sylva Ekpo and Damilola Oluwabiyi Mshelbila on their appointments as President and Secretary-General of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), calling it a proud moment for Nigeria.
In a statement, Tinubu highlighted Nigeria’s strategic role in global energy and urged the appointees to lead with integrity, ensure gas supply stability, and promote efficient resource management among member countries.
The GECF, often called the “Gas OPEC,” unites major gas-exporting nations. With Ekpo and Mshelbila in key leadership roles, Nigeria is positioned to strengthen its influence on international gas policies and global energy transition efforts.
