France U-17 Women’s head coach, Mickael Ferreira, has praised Nigeria’s Flamingos after his team’s narrow 1-0 victory in their second group game at the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup on Wednesday night.
Maissa Fathallah scored the decisive goal nine minutes from time to secure France’s qualification for the knockout stage.
Ferreira commended the Nigerian side for their strong performance, describing them as disciplined and courageous.
“We knew it would be a tough match. This Nigerian team is very united, very brave,” he said. “We had to rise to that challenge, and the girls responded really well. I’m very happy with what they produced.”
