Residents of Jikwoyi Phase One, a suburb of Abuja, have appealed to the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), to complete the abandoned road project in their community.
The road, awarded in 2023, has remained unfinished with only about 20% of the work completed after the general elections.
Speaking with Abuja City Journal, residents expressed frustration over the poor condition of the road, especially during the rainy season, saying several petitions to the AMAC Chairman’s office have yielded no result.
Mr. Adebayo Joseph, a member of the Landlord Association, urged FCTA and AMAC authorities to compel the contractor to return to site.
“We’re begging the government to ensure the contractor completes the project and ease our suffering,” Joseph said.
