Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has described Arsenal as the best team his side have faced this season after their 4-0 Champions League defeat at the Emirates Stadium.
After a goalless first half, Arsenal exploded with four goals in 13 minutes, Gabriel Magalhaes opened the scoring with a header from Declan Rice’s cross, followed by a Gabriel Martinelli strike and a Viktor Gyokeres brace.
The result marked Atletico’s heaviest Champions League loss, prompting Simeone to admit, “Arsenal are the best team we’ve faced this season.”
