Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo has expressed delight after helping AFC Toronto win the inaugural National Super League (NSL), Supporters’ Shield title with a 2-1 victory over Montreal Roses.
Okoronkwo assisted Nikayla Small’s decisive goal three minutes from time, sealing the historic win.
“It feels really good. We worked very hard from the beginning of the season, so to see our dream accomplished makes us very happy,” she told the Northern Super League.
The 28-year-old Nigerian international also appreciated fans for their unwavering support throughout the campaign.
