Senator Ned Nwoko has reacted to a viral video showing his wife, Nollywood star Regina Daniels, in distress during a confrontation, attributing her behaviour to drug and alcohol abuse.
In a statement on Instagram, Nwoko said Regina’s substance use had strained their marriage and urged her to continue rehabilitation.
He claimed she recently attacked staff and damaged property at their home while he was away.
“She assaulted three staff members and destroyed cars and windows for no reason. She now lives where she can easily access drugs,” he alleged.
The lawmaker said he had proposed rehabilitation options in Abuja and Jordan but accused some of Regina’s friends of enabling her addiction.
The actress’s brother, Sammy West, however, accused Nwoko of assaulting his sister, vowing to defend her.
Regina Daniels and Nwoko married in 2019 and have two children together.
Neither Regina nor her representatives have responded to the senator’s claims.
