The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), has demolished 11 duplexes in Dutse District, Abuja, for violating planning regulations by being built beneath high-tension power lines and across a stream channel.
Director of Development Control, Muktar Galadima, who led the operation on Thursday, said the developer ignored several stop-work notices and warnings.
He explained that although the land was legally allocated, approval was denied due to safety and environmental risks.
“Once you’re served a notice, stop work. If you don’t, you waste your money, and we will bring it down,” he warned.
Galadima added that the FCTA may consider alternative land for the owner but stressed that no compensation would be paid for unapproved structures.
