The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), has warned politicians that defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), ahead of the 2027 elections will not ensure victory.
The group said Nigerians are now more concerned about performance and integrity than political alignment, noting that “no defection can guarantee survival for any leader who has lost touch with the people.”
CUPP urged politicians to focus on governance and public trust rather than opportunistic realignments, stressing that voters have become more discerning and will reward only credible leadership in 2027.
