The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested 54 suspects during coordinated night raids on criminal hideouts across Abuja.
The operation, conducted on Tuesday night in areas including Nyanya, Karu, Kurudu, Life Camp, Apo, Karmo, Zuba, and Bwari, led to the recovery of substances suspected to be Indian hemp and other illicit drugs.
FCT Police spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, described the operation as a “decisive blow” against criminals threatening the capital’s peace, urging residents to share useful information with the police.
The command said the suspects are undergoing screening, and those found guilty will be charged to court.
The latest raids form part of ongoing intelligence-led efforts to curb drug peddling, theft, and other crimes across the nation’s capital.
