The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), has announced plans to stage a nationwide protest on October 20, demanding the release of detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.

In a statement, NANS said the peaceful protest, themed “Free Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” would hold across all states to highlight what it described as judicial injustice and the government’s disregard for court rulings granting Kanu bail.

The students urged President Bola Tinubu to intervene and ensure Kanu’s immediate release, calling on youths and civil society groups to join the movement for justice and respect for the rule of law.

Some Southeast stakeholders have also expressed support for the protest, citing frustration over Kanu’s prolonged detention.
