The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), has warned domestic airlines against informing passengers that ticket refunds take four weeks, insisting that its regulations mandate refunds within 14 days.
In a statement on Monday, the NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, said, “Domestic airlines need to stop telling passengers that their refund process takes four weeks. The NCAA regulations are clear, refunds must be completed within 14 days.”
He urged affected passengers to forward such complaints to the NCAA via michael.achimugu@ncaa.gov.ng, ifueko.abdulmalik@ncaa.gov.ng, or cpd@ncaa.gov.ng for investigation.
Achimugu reminded airlines that duplicating rules undermines regulatory authority and erodes passenger confidence, stressing that prompt refunds remain a basic obligation that must be strictly upheld.
