Kano Pillars General Manager, Ahmed Musa, has condemned the violent attack on Shooting Stars players and match officials by fans after their 1-1 draw in Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), match in Kano.

Fans invaded the Sani Abacha Stadium pitch following a late equaliser by Shooting Stars, assaulting players and referees in chaotic scenes that drew widespread outrage.

Describing the incident as “heartbreaking, shameful, and completely unacceptable,” Musa apologised to Shooting Stars, match officials, and the NPFL board, saying the behaviour did not reflect the club’s values of “community, passion, and respect.”

He assured that Kano Pillars would cooperate with authorities to identify and punish those responsible, adding that “violence has no place in football.”
