The Lagos State Government on Monday re-arraigned convicted billionaire kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, popularly known as Evans, on fresh charges related to the killing of two police officers.
Evans and his co-defendant, Joseph Emeka, appeared before Justice A. O. Ogala of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, on a five-count charge bordering on murder, attempted murder, and conspiracy to kidnap.
The new case expands the list of crimes linked to the notorious kidnapper, who has already been convicted in several kidnapping cases.
The state government said the charges aim to ensure justice for the slain officers allegedly targeted during Evans’ criminal operations.
