A Nigerian identified as Chimezie has been shot dead by gunmen at a bar in Durban, South Africa.
The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday while the victim, who worked at the bar, was serving customers.
Eyewitnesses said two men entered the bar, spoke briefly with him, and then opened fire. Chimezie reportedly died on the spot, and the attack is suspected to be cult-related.
The President of the Nigerian Union in South Africa, Mr. Smart Nwobi, confirmed the killing, saying the union is working with local authorities to curb gang-related attacks.
No arrests have been made as investigations continue.
The killing adds to a growing list of Nigerians murdered in South Africa. In July, two others identified as Austin and Ayo, were similarly shot dead in Durban.
