The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Lagos State has mocked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing its remaining members as “undertakers” presiding over a dying party.

Lagos APC spokesman, Seye Oladejo, made the remark in a statement on Saturday following the defection of two PDP lawmakers in Ondo State, Olajide Oguntodu and Oluwatoyin Daodu, who cited internal crises as their reason for leaving.

“The few remaining members of the PDP are perhaps the undertakers, staying behind only to perform the final rites and dispose of what remains of a once-dominant but now lifeless political carcass,” Oladejo said.

He said the defections reflect a growing loss of faith among PDP loyalists, blaming years of internal conflict, lack of ideology, and poor leadership for the party’s collapse.

Oladejo added that the movement of PDP members to the APC signifies public confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, urging the opposition party to “face reality and accept its diminished relevance.”
