An Air Peace flight from Abuja to Asaba on Friday aborted take-off after the pilot detected an engine malfunction at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

In a statement, the airline’s spokesperson, Efe Osifo-Whiskey, said the aircraft was returned to the ramp as a safety precaution. All passengers were safely evacuated without injury.

Air Peace said its engineers have begun inspecting the aircraft, while a standby plane was deployed to complete the Abuja–Asaba trip, minimising delays.

Reaffirming its commitment to passenger safety, the airline said, “Safety remains the foundation of our operations. The swift replacement of the aircraft reflects our dedication to excellence.”
