Human rights activist and Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, has announced October 20 for a nationwide protest demanding the release of detained IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu.
Sowore, in a post on his Facebook page, said the demonstration, tagged #FreeNnamdiKanuNow, will hold at the Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, by 7 a.m. He described it as a peaceful but resolute march to demand justice and respect for human rights.
The post has since attracted massive reactions and pledges of participation from Nigerians online.
Kanu, who leads the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has been in DSS custody since 2021, despite multiple court orders for his release.
