Former Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi, says Nigeria can still qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup if the players show determination and win their remaining matches.
The Super Eagles, currently third in Group C with 11 points from eight games, will face Lesotho on Friday in Polokwane before hosting Benin Republic next Tuesday.
“It will be a crime if Nigeria fails to qualify for the World Cup again,” Mikel said, urging the players to “fight hard and take responsibility” in the final two games.
He added that off-field issues should be set aside as Nigerians are counting on the team to deliver.
