Nigeria’s D’Tigress have been drawn alongside Germany, France, Korea, Colombia, and the Philippines in the 2026 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup qualifiers.
The draw, held on October 7 at the Patrick Baumann House of Basketball in Mies, Switzerland, sets the stage for the qualifiers scheduled from March 11-17, 2026, across four host cities: Wuhan (China), Lyon-Villeurbanne (France), San Juan (Puerto Rico), and Istanbul (Turkey).
The African champions will compete in Lyon-Villeurbanne, France, as they seek a third World Cup appearance after reaching the group stage in 2006 and the quarterfinals in 2018.
D’Tigress, who have won five consecutive AfroBasket titles and seven overall, trail only Senegal (11 titles) as the most successful women’s basketball team in Africa.
