Energy FC of Abuja put on a dazzling display to retain their 5Stars Premier League title, defeating Snowlions FC of Lagos 4-1 in the grand finale held on Saturday in Lagos.
The emphatic win secured back-to-back championships for the Abuja-based side and stunned the home crowd at the high-profile event.
Star striker Titus Ayuba was the standout performer, netting twice and earning the Man of the Match award for his brilliance and relentless attacking play.
Energy FC’s dominance was evident throughout the match, as they combined composure, teamwork, and clinical finishing to outclass their Lagos opponents.
The defeat marked another heartbreak for Lagos fans, whose teams continue to chase their first-ever 5Stars Premier League title.
Beyond football, the final turned into a celebrity spectacle, featuring an entertaining exhibition match with Zlatan, Skiibii, L.A.X, Ibroking, Kanaga Jr., and Sexy Steel, who thrilled fans with fun performances and lighthearted competition.
Energy FC claimed the ₦1.5 million champions’ prize, while runners-up Snowlions FC received ₦800,000. The regional runners-up from Abuja and Lagos also took home ₦350,000 each.
Dignitaries present at the trophy and medal presentation included Dr. Lakinbofa Goodluck of MTN, Mr. Adanklounon Cyrile (representing the Benin Republic Ambassador), Mr. Chinedu from Nigerian Breweries, League Ambassador Ibroking, and Mr. Desmond Emenike, among others.
