Gunmen have abducted a veterinary doctor, Dr. Ifeanyi Ogbu, and his three children from their residence in Kungabokun, a community on the border between the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and Niger State.

The incident occurred around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday when the assailants reportedly broke into the house through a window and whisked the victims away to an undisclosed location.

Police operatives from the Byazhin Division, supported by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and local vigilantes, have launched a coordinated search of surrounding forests and hills in an effort to rescue the victims and track down the attackers.

Security sources confirmed that the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), has opened an inquiry into the case.

Authorities have urged residents to remain calm, assuring that all necessary measures are being taken to secure the release of Dr. Ogbu and his children.

As of press time, no group has claimed responsibility for the abduction, and the victims’ whereabouts remain unknown.
